Anita is a Bulgarian artist and photographer, currently based in Portsmouth, UK where she is undertaking a Bachelors's degree in photography at the University of Portsmouth. Her practice is predominantly focused on performance art and conceptual photography in a context of identity; feminity and feminism. Anita has been invited to give talks to younger students after getting her work exhibited across the UK and Europe.
The experience of curating an exhibition titled Interstice (2017), featuring 6 other Portsmouth-based artists, inspired Anita to explore the curatorial practice.
She got involved in putting up an exhibition, alongside Sussex Oakleaf, dedicated to mental health. This has further encouraged her to organise T:AIM - Transfeminism - Art - Identity - Movement, a 3-day exhibition and event focused on contemporary issues that female representatives face. The show was held in Santa Maria dello Spasimo, Palermo where national and international artists were represented.
